MY NOKIA SUDDENLY FROZE ON ME CANNOT GET IT WORKING AGAIN

MY NOKIA N97 IS ABOUT 3 MONTHS OLD AND THE PHONE SUDDENLY FROZE ON ME WHEN I SWITCHED MY PHONE OFF THEN BACK ON SO I TOOK THE BATTERY OUT AND REPLACED IT NOTHING SEEMS TO HAPPEN.
IT SWITCHES ON BUT IT FREEZES AFTER THE NOKIA SCREEN PAGE APPEARS. HOW DO I FIX THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE I HAVE IMPORTANT THINGS ON THE PHONE WHICH I HAVE NOT BACKED UP.

Have you tried the octopus reset? - hold the 3' key, '*' key, and power key altogether

this will reset the phone, so you will loose your data but should have a working phone. I do not know of a reset that will keep your data, sorry

Hi, I have the same problem but I was trying to reset my n97 to factory settings and I did it before a few times it was not a problem. this time I entered the wrong code a few try and finally got it right but it shut off and back on and now it just stay on constantly with the nokia logo on the screen. It wont let me do anything not even to turn it off not unless I pull the battery out. I tried the octopus reset but nothing. Is there anything I can to get this phone working, I really need help. I have important things in this phone. Please anyone out there, help.!!!!:-(

Hi, I got my n97 working again. I found this on the net and it worked on my phone after a few try. check it out hopefully help you too. Try the following. thanks



"If you see the blue Nokia logo for far too long (I’ve grown to hate seeing it at is means I may need to hard reset – anything past 40 seconds is abnormal) and no matter how long you wait it won’t start, try cycling these restart motions,

Battery out,in; memory card out – start
Battery out,in; memory card in – start <REPEAT for a while until something happens or you get bored and eventually do a hard reset)
